In recent years, the weather has got drastic changes more and more frequently, some causing disastrous influences, such as the flood, snow storms, typhoon, and severe heat wave; even the earthquakes and volcanic eruption are said to be related the global warming. Global warming is the fundamental reason for unusual weather which is a big threat to human survival. Luckily, more and more people have realized the threat and practice to lower the carbon in their daily activities. For your travel in China, you could also make a contribution to the environment protection by a low carbon travel. Here are some tips for your reference.
1. Use a mobile tour software
Usually, before your trip, most of you will search the tour information about your destination and then book a tour through internet, or choose to resort to paper tour books. However, it is a non environmental protection behavior. A better low carbon way is to get the correlative information using mobile tour software, such as the iPhone app ‘x Town Guangzhou Asian Games, which is an offline app for who plan to travel to Guangzhou or Guangzhou Asian Games.
2. Flight and luggage
Choose a non-stop flight instead of a transfer one, and bring as light luggage as possible.
3. Accommodation
Choose a hotel near the attraction so as to decrease carbon lay out and fee during transfers. If you stay in the same hotel for several days, choose to remain the bed sheet, quilt cover, towel, etc. Also remember to turn off the light, air-conditioner, TV when you leave the hotel.
4. Use public transportation
As you know, most of the carbon discharge comes from traffic tools when you are travelling. Choose to use public transportation, such as bus and subway instead of private car or taxi. In this way, much less carbon is set off. Besides, it is economical and very convenient. 5. Bring with drinking water and reusable bags
Before you trip, you should bring your own drinking water rather than one-off bottle water; and use a reusable bag to take the food.
6. Prepare dishware of your own
Some restaurants in China use one-off dishware for convenience, you’d better use your own dishware in order to decrease white pollution.
7. Presents or souvenirsa
China is a country with a rich and distinctive culture, so most China travelers would like to bring something as presents or souvenirs for their families. Innumerous cute things are tempting to buy. However, don’t buy many but the extract, such as a paper fan painted with China landscape.
