Madian Mosque is located in the west of Madian Street, Haidian District, where many foreigners conduct prayer and the Imams speak good Arabic.
The mosque was built during the rein of Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1662-1722) according to the inscription on the stone tablet carved in Qing dynasty. On both the left and right sides of it, there were side doors, which have become the second gate now; its front gate was built later. The prayer hall is inside the second gate with quite high stairs of 9 steps. In front of the prayer hall, three porches and sixteen mihrabs are built, which can hold about 500 people for prayers.
