Q: Is bargain common in China? How to bargain?
A: Bargaining for goods and services is commonly acceptable in China except in large store, and restaurants. Here are some tips on bargaining:
1). Before purchasing, have a general idea of the price by visiting different shops.
2). Be persistent when bargaining
3). If the shop owner doesn’t compromise, pretend to walk away; usually, the venders then will give in and offer you a satisfactory price. The price could be cut 20-50% mostly.
4). When the price is agreed, you should buy the item, otherwise, you will be regarded to be impolite and discreditable
5). Be sure to check the item to see if there is any blemish.
